All Is Dream

September sunsets are calling us. On September 11th, we head to the beach to embark on a guided improvisation exploring what happens from birth to death. The dancers will be given an abundance of freedom, with very few parameters. The success of the piece relies heavily on the dancers remaining authentic and in the moment during a continuous hour of solo and group work. Inspired by Mercury Rev’s “All Is Dream”, which was coincidentally released on September 11, 2001, we hope to experience, produce and capture one hour of dance where “All is one, All is mind, all is lost and you find, All is Dream.”

8 in Show

8 in Show is a quarterly dance series presented by Dixon Place, curated by Sangeeta Yesley, that features 8 dance companies each evening, giving emerging and established choreographers of all dance forms an opportunity to showcase new, 5-12 minute pieces.

True-et

This fall, they’ve streamlined their vision even further and are proud to present their newest collection of “True-ets!” sponsored by Mockingbird Studio

The ReMARCable Dance Project

Returning for it’s fourth year, The ReMARCable Dance Project, an essential part of Dance Key West’s Outreach Program, combines the talents of Dance Key West and MARC, a local non-profit serving adults with developmental disabilities. This exciting and innovative project intends to benefit MARC clients by helping them improve coordination, participate in mild physical activity, and provide an opportunity for socialization, all while learning the art of dance. We believe artistic expression and physical activity are imperative to good health, and that every creative voice should be nurtured. For three months, clients work with Dance Key West on basic ballet, jazz and tap vocabulary, as well as the development of their own individual choreography styles. Please join us for the show: April 6, 2019 at The Studios of Key West!

Tiny Dances

The audience is invited to both browse the juried art and take a chair to enjoy the installation as it unfolds around them during the hour-long performance.

Please join us on April 16th at 7:30pm.
