Kyla has put together her 2013-2014 Dream Team! Now we're ready to roll up our sleeves and get to work. Here's a short rehearsal clip of Kyla & Jordan preparing for the recent A-T Benefit 'A Very Special Evening' at Lincoln Center. The piece they created last week will be part of our December show at Tennessee Williams Theatre. Get into it, Key West - This is going to be a good one!

We're working hard to fund our 2013-2014 season because we believe that dance is a vital part of every community. We want Key West to have a strong and viable dance scene. Over the past five years, we've done some great shows, like 1969 for example, but so far we've only been able to work on a project-to-project basis...Now we're ready to take the next step: A 30 week annual season! Our Mission
Key West Contemporary Dance is a 501c3 nonprofit dance company dedicated to initiating, illuminating and inspiring art in the physical form; building contemporary danceworks to regale, stimulate and share with the public, serving as an educator, descendant and impetus to the continuance of contemporary dance in life.
A. Is dedicated to the creation and presentation of professional contemporary danceworks that resonate on a universal and personal level.
B. Is committed to providing opportunities for professional contemporary dance to thrive in the under-served dance community of Key West.
C. Strives to preserve the art of contemporary dance and to share the art of contemporary dance with the community; to stimulate the public's awareness of contemporary dance by promoting the creation of new works; by promoting the employment of local dance artists; by making financial grants and other assistance available for performances and other dance projects; and by assisting in the development and growth of a professional contemporary dance scene, to work with local, state and federal governmental bodies and agencies, other not-for-profit and for-profit providers to promote the art of contemporary dance.
D. Fosters artistic excellence through artistic collaboration and support of the endeavors of local professional dance artists.
